Hello & welcome to the 2311sqn Revamped website. There have been many changes to the website. Most of them are behind the scenes, but some of them will be seen by you.

If you are interested in joining the ATC, why not come along & see us on either a Monday night or a Thursday night between 6:30 & 8:30

Drill Competition
On the 23rd of May 10 cadets from the sqn went to HMS Caledonia for the annual Wing Drill Competition.
The cadets that attended were;
FS Mack who was the drill commander,
Sgt Bell, Cpl Batsford, Cpl Clowes, Cpl Wilson, Cdt Dobbie, Cdt Flemming, Cdt Lynch, Cdt Nicoll and Cdt Roberts. Also Cpl Batsford, Cpl Clowes and Cdt Flemming attended the aircraft recognition competition in the morning before the drill competition.

The day went well, with the cadets arriving at the sqn at 0830 hours for last minute uniform preparation, the cadets left the sqn at 1015 hours to arrive at HMS Caledonia at 1045 hours.
The cadets were sent to the room where the Aircraft Recognition Competition was held – as it was very hot outside, - FS Mack and Flying Officer Moonlight went to get the briefing on what was happening for the day.
The sqn was 5th to go onto the drill square. So there wasn’t much standing around waiting for the inspection, the inspection went well and only lasted 10 minutes.
Then it was lunch before the sqn had to carry out the drill sequence. The drill sequence went well and every cadet put a lot of effort into there drill.

The parade at the end of the day only lasted for 20 minutes, which is very short, with all the trophies being awarded, but they put that down to the weather as it was 25C, very hot for being in uniform.
At the end of the day the Aircraft Recognition team came 3rd and the Drill Squad came 8th out of 22 sqn’s in the wing, which is very good, for all the cadets that put the effort into the weeks of practise before the competition well done.

Football and Hockey
The 7-a-side football and 6-a-side hockey are taking place this Sunday at the Fife Institute. Meet at 9.00 outside the front of the centre. Cadets should arrive in light blue shirt and tie and bring with them shin pads, trainers (no studs) and a packed lunch (no fizzy juice). Even if you are not playing come along and support your squadron!

5-A-Side Football
On the 14th February cadets attended the wing 5-A-Side football championships. In fact the attendance was so great we managed to enter a team into each category: Junior boys, Senior boys and Girls. After a few tense matches the boys teams were unfortunately knocked out. However the Girls managed to get to the final. During an exciting match in which the Sqn pulled together to support their teammates they emerged victorious! Congratulations to Cpl Cranmer, Cpl Wilson, Cpl Pearson, Cdt Hamilton, Cdt Walters and Cdt Nicoll.

Thank you to all the cadets who attended the church parade last Sunday. They all showed the Sqn at it best and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done.
